As Earth Day (April 22) approaches, weâre celebrating with something close to our hearts: a guide to five thoughtful, eco-friendly & cool gifts from right here in whatâs now British Columbia. At All The Good Things From BC, caring for the planet is built into everything we do - every item we carry is chosen with its impact on Mother Earth in mind.
So yes, when you shop with us, youâre already making a more sustainable choice. But we also wanted to highlight five of our favourite Good Things that really stand out for their eco-friendly features - from the everyday essentials to the unexpectedly green.
Letâs start with the more obvious heroes - like reusable containers and conscious clothing - before we surprise you with a few you might not expect, like jewelry and home dĂ©cor.
Ready to discover some feel-good gifting? Letâs dive in.
Â
1. Reusable Food Containers & Utensils
Reusable food containers and utensils are a simple switch with a big impact. They cut down on single-use plastics, help shrink your carbon footprint, and save you money over time - all while keeping you and the planet a little healthier.
The food jars, lunch bags, and snack pouches on our (virtual) shelves are designed right here on the lands now known as British Columbia by the folks at Danica Studio and their sister brand, Now Designs. Each piece is both practical and beautiful - because letâs be honest, eating out of something you actually like makes lunch feel a little more joyful. And that kind of everyday joy? Itâs good for your well-being too
2. Reusable Shopping & Produce Bags
What makes reusable shopping bags eco-friendly? The same things that make food containers a smart choice: they reduce waste, cut back on single-use plastic, and support more mindful living. But there's more to love. Cool reusable shopping bags that feature locally designed artwork do more than carry your groceries - they carry your values.
Choosing bags that feature designs by artists from whatâs now British Columbia is a simple, stylish way to support both the planet and the people who call it home.
Take a peek at our newest arrivals in the reusable bag section - featuring beautiful West Coast designs by Mountain Mornings.
Letâs talk clothing. Choosing well-made pieces that are designed and made in Canada is a meaningful way to reduce your carbon footprint - less shipping, less waste, and more support for local communities.
When a garment is crafted closer to home, it creates jobs, keeps money circulating locally, and helps ensure fairer working conditions. If itâs made by people who are treated well and take pride in what they do, that goodness is woven right in. A win-win all around.
At AGBC we are happy to offer t-shirts by Kindred Coast, that are all made in Canada. Then we also have the limited edition hoodie made by Ambler and our own branded toques that are also made in Canada.Â

When you hear eco-friendly home dĂ©cor, what comes to mind? Dried flowers? A few twigs or wisps of grass arranged in a beige vase? Weâve got good news - eco-friendly doesnât have to mean beige or boring. And it definitely doesnât have to involve shedding foliage.
At AGBC, weâre proud to carry a vibrant line of art prints on wood. Each piece is printed on either salvaged wood or wood sourced from responsibly managed forests right here in whatâs now British Columbia.
And hereâs the kicker: wood wall art actually has a great end-of-life story. When itâs time to part ways, itâs biodegradable - or burnable, if youâre the cozy campfire type. Try saying that about the wood-look plastic knick-knacks from big box stores. Yeah⊠didnât think so.
The image below features the "Starry Skies" - a photograph taken by "B.C." based photographer Kyle Graham at what's now Alta Lake, Whistler, BC and is printed on light birch plank wood by Vancouver Island based decor company Woodly.
We all love a little sparkle - but itâs worth asking where that glimmer comes from, and what makes it a cool eco friendly gift in the first place.
At AGBC, weâre all about sterling silver jewelry made from responsibly sourced materials. It might come with a higher price tag than silver-plated or costume pieces, but hereâs what makes it worth it: longevity and recyclability. Sterling silver can be melted down and reborn into something brand new, again and again.
Try doing that with silver-plated or gold-plated trinkets - spoiler alert: you canât. Investing in quality means less waste, more value, and a piece that actually lasts.
Here at AGBC we're happy to be carrying one of the best lines of jewelry born on these lands now called B.C. - the Treeline Silver Jewelry collection. Beautiful and sturdy silver rings that are also stackable. Silver necklaces with various charms and adjustable chains. And at last but not least neat little studs that come in two versions - single motif or mix& match.
Weâve also ventured into the world of jewelry with something close to our hearts: our very own AGBC necklace, featuring a sterling silver logo pendant. This special piece was brought to life by none other than B.C.âs own jewelry guru, Rosie from Joie Designs.
Both the pendant and the chain are made from solid sterling silver, responsibly sourced right here in whatâs now British Columbia. You wonât find this piece anywhere elseâitâs available exclusively through our shop.
Looking for a compliment-worthy necklace that carries the spirit of this land? This might be the one.

From reusable containers and vibrant wall art to thoughtful jewelry, AGBC shows that sustainability doesnât mean sacrificing style. Every product featured is locally designed or made in whatâs now British Columbia, with the planet - and people - in mind.
Whether itâs Canadian-made clothing, responsibly sourced silver, or art printed on salvaged wood, shopping local through AGBC helps keep money and creativity flowing within our communities - and supports fairer, more transparent supply chains.
Each of these cool eco friendly gifts offers more than function or beauty - it tells a story, honors the land, and leaves a lighter footprint. Itâs not just about what you give, but how and why you give it.
Shop small, shop local & feel good about it.
